Meeting with PPA
Meeting with PPA--Your Options
You have several options for meeting with a PPA advisor. We recommend regular (ideally every semester) individual appointments. You can also pop in to see us when we are holding drop-in hours somewhere on campus. These include some of Purdue's Cultural Centers which welcome ALL students even if they do not identify with that group, the Honors College, and some college advising offices. You can also invite us to your student organization for a presentation.
Individual Appointments
You can make individual appointments with us to discuss questions you have about different fields in healthcare and about law school. We can discuss your preparation for your chosen field and answer questions about applications.
You make an appointment with any one of our 3 advisors on BoilerConnect just as you would with your academic advisor. Each of our pre-professional advisors is prepared to work with students interested in all professional fields.
Here are detailed instructions on making a BoilerConnect appointment with PPA.
Why are PPA appointments virtual?
We have been focused on virtual appointments for about 5 years. We discovered that they typically work better for students. The resources you need to become familiar with as you move along your path of preparing for professional school are online. It is much easier to show them to you and for you to copy them into your own computer browser when we meet virtually.
If you feel that an in-person meeting will serve you best, we are happy to arrange that.
Dropping in on PPA around Campus
PPA has satellite hours in the cultural centers. We are planning to add some to work with other advising offices to offer remote visits. All students are welcome during these events. If it is convenient for you to drop-in during these times, please do! We would be happy to see you at these times for quick questions or just to say hello.

Club Presentations
We are happy to meet with your student organization! You can always email preprofessional@purdue.edu if you have questions or have ideas for events you would like to discuss.
We can provide overviews about preparing for and applying to professional programs or deep-dives into topics like preparing for interviews or writing personal statements. Tell us what you have in mind and we can work with you on what might work best.
If you already have an idea in mind, it is easiest to submit a request through the CCO Invite Us to Speak portal and select Pre-Med, Pre-Health, Pre-Law as the topic. In your notes you can provide more information about what you are looking for in the topic.
